Medical Biller

Buffalo. KSL Biomedical. Medical Biller. $24 - $28/hour.

KSL is a small, specialized lab that offers testing across a wide range of diagnostic categories. The Medical Biller is responsible for pulling info from the LIS, entering LIS info into the billing system, managing transmission of data and tracking payments. Prepare and send invoices from QuickBooks accounting software. This position is on-site and works closely with the KSL accounting team.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Coordinate the insurance billing function of the business
• Review insurance information
• Retrieve data as requested
• Sort and organize paperwork
• Prepare and submit medical claims for clinical laboratory billing
• Process direct billing
• Post payments
• Review aging and follow up on outstanding claims
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports in billing system
• Review patient balances and send statements
• Retrieve data from merchant services and enter in QuickBooks
• Assist with accounting and billing projects as necessary
• Complete quality records in compliance with regulatory requirements including ICD-10, GDP and Standard Operating Procedures and Policies
  
  

Requirements

• Education, skills and / or work experience requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years medical billing experience with a focus on providing excellent customer service
• Prior medical billing experience required
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel; comfortable learning new systems.
• Prior ECR/EMR experience a plus
• Clear, professional verbal and written communication.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
