- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 - 5 years of experience working with insurance companies and extensive knowledge of different types of coverage and policies
- Computer, telephone, internet, Virtual fax machine
- Associate Degree or Higher
- Open Dental knowledge, Dental insurance verification experience
- Retrieve insurance breakdown information prior to patient appointments.
- Ensure accurate data entry into Open Dental of the insurance plan information.
- Review existing insurance plans in Open Dental to combine and ensure accuracy of existing dental plans. Correct any errors as necessary.
- Update patient benefit information in the organization’s insurance system and verify that existing information is accurate to ensure the patient receives a correct estimate of insurance payments for the treatment being presented.
- Coordinate with the practice, the third party vendor and the RCM team.
- Work with assigned practice teams to ensure an exceptional patient experience.
- Various other duties as requested by the supervisor.
