General Summary
Assists with the scheduling of show cause hearings for child support and spousal support cases and prepares client files for Friend of the Court Referees. Meets with the public and answers general and specific inquiries regarding show cause hearings and related issues. Uses parameters authorized by Referee to accept client offers to settle child support, visitation, medical, and alimony show cause hearings. Answers telephones, takes messages, and schedules appointments for Referees. Responds to phone inquiries from clients, employers and other agencies providing information from established Friend of the Court guidelines and case files. Processes court orders and other related file record notations that result from court hearings. Assists Referees in the preparation and processing of paperwork in response to correspondence from clients. Enters on-line additions and corrections of case files into the computer. Collects and reports caseload statistics. Fills in for other clerical employees as needed. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

Required Minimum Qualifications
At the time of application, applicants must:
- Be a high school graduate or have a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development Test.
- Have had two (2) years of responsible full-time clerical experience.
- Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.
- Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
