Qualifications / Experience
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst required
- ISBE PEL with LBSI or other endorsement, preferred
- CPI Trained, Certified CPI trainer preferred
- Previous experience working with K-8 level students.
- An interest and/or experience working with students with varying levels/types of disabilities.
- Expertise in conducting educational assessments and the development of individual educational programs.
- The ability to work collaboratively with others to optimize student achievement.

- Prepares educational records and IEP forms.
- Assist with developing and implementing Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) for students across all grade levels.
- Collaborate with building teams to develop the scope, depth, and nature of FBAs and develop written BIPs.
- Provide ongoing technical assistance to BIP implementers (i.e., certified personnel, support personnel, one/one assistants, transportation personnel, etc.).
- Provide ongoing technical assistance to building teams to monitor, evaluate, and amend BIPs.
- Participate in/present at IEP, Eligibility, and other meetings.
- Collaborate with administration and building teams to provide professional development that supports the implementation of the program’s de-escalation, physical restraint, and FBA/BIP procedures.
- Communicates effectively with students, parents, district, and agency personnel.
- Communicates necessary information verbally or via reports promptly.
- Keeps team members and administration appropriately informed.
- Follows program disciplinary policies and procedures.
- Uses and trains on appropriate, positive behavior interventions.
- Displays flexibility.
- Conducts self ethically and appropriately and displays good judgment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Vision: (which may be corrected) to read small print; view a computer screen for prolonged periods.
- Hearing: (which may be corrected) to answer telephones and tolerate exposure to noisy conditions.
- Speech: to be understood in face-to-face communications; to speak with a level of proficiency and volume to be
- understood over the telephone.
- Upper Body Mobility: use hands and fingers to feel, grasp, and manipulate small objects; manipulate fingers, twist, and bend at wrist and elbow; extend arms to reach outward and upward; use hands and arms to lift objects; turn, raise, and lower head.
- Lower Body Mobility: to bend at the waist, stoop, twist, and turn the torso.
- Strength: to lift, push, pull, and/or carry objects that weigh as much as 25 pounds frequently.
- Environmental Requirements: encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors.
- Mental Requirements: read, write, understand, interpret, and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; business math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgment and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copying, comparing, compiling and coordinating information and records.
