Description
Position Summary: The Quality Editor is the guardian of Community Impact style and grammar for the print newspaper, website, and our daily email newsletter. The Quality Editor will ensure readers receive accurate and informative news in their inbox daily by utilizing first-rate editing skills and collaborating with editors to create emails in Hubspot. The Quality Editor will also support print production by serving as an editor for hard news and features written by the company’s journalists and will move print pages through the workflow process.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- First-rate editing skills
- Expert knowledge of AP Style
- Ability to hit daily production deadlines
- Proficiency in editing both hard news and features
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage the production of newsletter content
- Ability to copyfit pages in a content management system
- Basic knowledge and understanding of the modern journalism industry
- Ability to perform assigned job responsibilities promptly with minimal supervision
- Ability to learn industry-specific software, including content management systems and email service providers
- Relevant experience with editing, AP Style
- Ability to pass the company's writing and editing tests
- College degree—preferably in journalism—or related coursework
- At least 1 year of full-time experience with print or digital publication(s), or equivalent experience
