Radiology Coordinator

Position Summary

Provide administrative support to clinical staff and prepares for patient appointments and follow up within the Radiology & Neurovascular Lab departments.

Responsibilities

  • Use workflows within the EMR to prepare the appointment for the patient arrival
  • Monitor patient schedules for timely throughput of patients
  • Receive and manage request for prior imaging
  • Transcribe outside orders and associate to the electronic order.
  • Monitor various work queues within the EMR to ensure efficient and accurate patient throughput
  • Use worklists within the EMR to manage patient’s follow up, data entry and tracking of patient involvement through screening programs
  • Manage patient appointments
  • Telephone customer service
  • Contact providers and patients to obtain information and orders
  • Scan paper records into patient charts
  • Schedule IR clinic consults and follow-up testing, assisting the provider during IR clinic consults

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated self-starter who proactively identifies tasks, opportunities, and solutions
  • Strong sense of initiative and ownership of responsibilities
  • Comfortable managing priorities and making decisions to more work forward without waiting for instruction
  • Resourceful and action-oriented, with a drive to improve processes and contribute beyond assigned tasks
  • Experience within a Radiology department, understanding common Radiology terms, exams and process will have priority consideration
