Position Overview
Palm Beach Day Academy is seeking a dynamic and innovative Elementary Technology & Robotics Teacher to join our team. This role involves creating and implementing a comprehensive, technology and robotics curriculum that engages K-3 students in hands-on learning and prepares them for a digitally connected world. The ideal candidate will inspire young learners through lessons in digital literacy, computer science, and age-appropriate robotics, while promoting curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity.

Palm Beach Day Academy is seeking a dynamic and innovative Elementary Technology & Robotics Teacher to join our team. This role involves creating and implementing a comprehensive, technology and robotics curriculum that engages K-3 students in hands-on learning and prepares them for a digitally connected world. The ideal candidate will inspire young learners through lessons in digital literacy, computer science, and age-appropriate robotics, while promoting curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement a technology and robotics curriculum aligned with academic standards and ISTE Standards for Students.
- Deliver engaging technology and robotics lessons to students in grades K–3, covering topics such as:
- Typing and productivity tools
- Coding and computational thinking
- Digital citizenship and online safety
- Robotics fundamentals using age-appropriate tools (e.g., Bee-Bots, Dash & Dot, Marty robots, Spheros etc.)
- Facilitate hands-on, project-based robotics activities that promote teamwork, problem-solving, and STEM integration.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate technology and robotics into core subject areas.
- Manage the technology lab and robotics equipment, ensuring all materials are used appropriately and maintained.
- Model and promote responsible, ethical, and inclusive use of technology and digital tools.
- Stay current with emerging trends in educational technology and robotic
- Support school-wide technology initiatives and provide basic tech support when needed.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience teaching elementary-aged children
- Proficiency with common educational technology tools (Google Workspace, coding platforms like Scratch Jr., typing programs, etc.)
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and classroom tech tools (e.g., Smart Boards, Chromebooks)
- Familiarity with ISTE Standards for Students and Educators
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Ability to adapt lessons for various learning styles and developmental levels
- Creative problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Passion for fostering a love of technology and learning in young students
