Job Purpose & Summary
Meyer Lab is looking for a detail oriented and driven Inventory Analyst. The Inventory Analyst plays a critical role in managing and optimizing inventory levels in a chemical manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for analyzing inventory data for Meyer HQ, its subsidiaries and field warehouses. They will partner closely with sales to forecast demand and ensure that materials are available to support production schedules while minimizing excess stock. The Inventory Analyst will collaborate closely with various departments, including procurement, scheduling, production, and logistics, to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency, ultimately contributing to the company’s profitability and operational success. This position reports directly to the Inventory Manager.

Inventory Management
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels, turnover rates, and stock discrepancies to ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency in tracking materials and products for Meyer HQ, its subsidiaries and field warehouses.
- Collaborate with production and sales teams to forecast demand accurately, ensuring sufficient inventory is available to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Utilize historical data, market trends, and sales forecasts to refine inventory planning.
- Prepare and present regular reports on inventory performance, including key metrics such as inventory turnover, stockouts, and excess inventory.
- Utilize NetSuite ERP system and tools to analyze data and identify trends, providing actionable insights for decision-making.
- Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely ordering of materials and supplies based on inventory analysis and production needs.
- Assist in supplier evaluations and negotiations, focusing on optimizing lead times and costs.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconciliation processes to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements within inventory management practices.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to implement best practices and streamline inventory processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or logistics, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical industry setting.
- Familiarity with chemical inventory management practices and regulatory compliance is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficient in inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite); advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in chemical handling and storage.
- No travel is required for this position.
- Ability to perform desk and computer work as required.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs when necessary.
- Must be located within 30 miles of Kansas City
