ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Engineer at Kratos is primarily responsible for the development and execution of Kratos
orders. The Project Engineer is fluent on the variations, standards, and specifications relevant to
Kratos UL 891, UL1008, and related Kratos product offerings. An ideal candidate enjoys having their
hands in multiple parts of the business, is highly organized and self-directed, and can shift
between high level and detailed needs with ease.

Additional Responsibilities Include
- Coordinate and lead the full project lifecycle as it pertains to the Engineering effort on all Kratos orders
- Retaining proper documentation in compliance with Kratos’ ISO 9001 practices when applicable
- Initial project intake and kickoff internal to Engineering
- Work closely with Project Managers to communicate status and needs to/from customers
- Establishing relationships with relevant supply chain partners and communicating flow-down requirements
- Maintaining RFI logs for projects through submittal approval
- Submittal development and delivery to customers to include:
- Long lead time component identification and notification to purchasing to match project needs
- Major component definition
- One-line electrical schematics and project footprint general sizing
- Project closeout labeling
- Applicable standard (UL) checks of compliance
- Congruent and streamlined coordination of various engineering sub-groups (mechanical and electrical) to put forth a single, accurate, complete project scope and plan.
- Project ERP management
- Participating in – and sometimes leading – continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage Engineering portion of Customer ECO process as needed on jobs post-initial release
- Promote and adhere to Code Orange, the Kratos creed
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline or related experience
- High proficiency in creating/using Microsoft Excel applications that contribute to process automation
- Exceptional organization skills and high level of attention to detail
- Demonstrable experience with 2D and/or 3D CAD software
- Working electrical knowledge of low-voltage and medium-voltage power systems
- Ability to communicate clearly person to person. Must be willing to learn, collaborate, listen and discuss with peers about methods and principles.
- Firm knowledge of UL 891 and familiarity with other UL Standards – particularly 508A and/or 1008 and applicable medium voltage standards as deployed by Kratos
- ERP experience and knowledge
- Strong attention to detail both at a macro and micro level; ability to see the big picture.
- 2+ years of Engineering experience or equivalent experience
