Description

SHINE Technologies is seeking a Field Engineering Manager who will perform as part of, and lead, a team of Field Engineers in identifying, resolving, and tracking issues related to implementation of engineered designs. The Field Engineering Manager takes a lead role in working with Contractors providing oversight and coordination as needed to bring the SHINE Medical Isotope Production Facility into commercial operation.

The Field Engineering Manager position supports day-to-day activities required for the construction of the SHINE facility, leading Field Engineers to address issues in the field with Contractors and Engineering

The base salary range for this position is $105,000 -$159,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide field oversight to ensure that the facility is built in accordance with the design. Ensure structural design, facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment (MEP), and plant process equipment are built in accordance with drawings and specifications.
  • Select, develop, train, and lead Field Engineering team to construct the SHINE Medical Isotope Facility.
  • Servant-Leader mentality troubleshooting SSCs installations and proposing design alternatives to the SHINE Engineering.
  • Collaborate directly with Contractors and Engineering to resolve field issues.
  • Draft ECRs including drawing markups, using Adobe or Bluebeam with technical and formal accuracy.
  • Utilize information available to develop a plan of action to resolve issues in the field, including reviewing drawings, codes, contractor submittals and the 3D model.
  • Identify and track items adverse to quality and provide solutions to resolve non-confirming designs via the NCR process, and drive NCRs to completion.
  • Conduct weekly reviews, or delegate reviews, of open work packages to confirm they are current and to support timely closure.
  • Conduct completions walkdowns prior to testing, as requested by NDE Coordinators.
  • Perform field walkdowns of completed SSC installations in support of closing work packages.
  • Perform reviews for closure of completed work packages to support turnover to SHINE Commissioning.
  • Conduct constructability reviews of engineering designs, as requested.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and exemplify personal accountability by following through issues to satisfactory completion.
  • Be a champion for safety by executing walkdowns in a safe manner, and coaching others, when needed to improve overall site safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, or nuclear engineering, science or other technical field, or equivalent experience supervising field engineering at active construction projects.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience supervising or overseeing physical maintenance or construction work controlled by a nuclear quality program.
  • Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, to take directions, as well as think independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings, design specifications, and vendor shop drawings.
  • Ability to use Adobe or Bluebeam to red-line or markup PDF documents.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and drive acceptable resolutions.
  • Ability to navigate 3D model software and use 3D model as problem solving tool.
  • Ability to climb scaffold/ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • This role ends at the completion of the facility commissioning, which is expected to conclude in 2031. The individual will have the opportunity to apply for other available roles within SHINE at that time.

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
