The Materials Supervisor reports directly to the Materials Manager is responsible for directly supervising material handlers, cycle counters, kitting clerks and receiving personnel to assure timely delivery of materials and inventory accuracy and integrity. Develops, trains, and assures execution of daily material transactions through processes. Measures through KPI tracking and auditing the delivery timeliness and perpetual cycle count accuracy at each material point of use.

Responsibilities

  • Establish “bus routes” for material delivery and assure delivery execution throughout production facility through direct management of material handlers
  • Develop world class “dock to stock” timetables for receiving of incoming raw materials, components and MRO
  • Work directly with plant controllers to perform daily cycle counts, root cause and corrective actions for deviations and continual monitoring of inventory integrity
  • Execute kitting schedule to ensure daily attainment of kit delivery to assembly functions
  • Maintain proper checking, identifying, and recording of all parts and raw material received from internal and outside sources. Ensure correct inventory balances through inventory control procedures.
  • Plan and schedule assembly departments to ensure on time delivery.
  • Plan and schedule fabrication departments, making required expedites when needed.
  • Work as critical team member in the advancement of planning and scheduling systems and processes.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications And Requirements

  • B.S. degree or equivalent experience in material management and production control
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Excellent ERP/MRP experience – Microsoft Dynamics preferred
  • Combination of sedentary office work (30%) and shop floor mobility (70%)
  • Ability to physically move carts, material bins and stand/walk for extended periods of time
