Job Summary

We are seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to lead our multi-company, multi-state enterprise HR strategy and operations. This individual will be a culture warrior, a trusted advisor to senior management, and a pivotal force in building and sustaining a thriving work environment. This position will lead a team to foster a positive and inclusive work culture, manage talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation management, payroll and benefits, and ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations. This position plays a critical role in shaping the organization's culture, supporting its growth, and ensuring positive employee experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Leadership: Serve as a trusted partner to the executive team, providing counsel on people strategies and organizational development. Aligning HR strategies with business objectives to support enterprise growth.Strong team building, cross-functional collaboration, and crisis-resolution skills
  • Culture Champion: Lead an inclusive, innovative, collaborative, and engaging company culture that reflects our mission and values with actionable, measurable strategies.
  • Training & Development: Design and implement leadership training and professional development programs that enhance employee skills and career growth while supporting a robust succession plan and leadership pipeline.
  • Talent Acquisition and Retention: Develop and implement strategies to attract diverse, mission-aligned talent and retain onboard employees in this competitive landscape.
  • Benefits Administration, Compensation, Compliance, and Governance: Play an integral part of employee ancillary benefits program selection, administration, and renewal. Must be well versed in self-insured medical programs. Manage the company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan, serving as a fiduciary of the plan. Monitor the performance of the company’s broker and administrator. Perform annual compliance reporting and mandatory compliance testing. Lead initiatives to educate employees on the features of all benefits. Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of compensation structures Ensure all compensation and benefits practices comply with federal, state, and local laws, including but not limited to FLSA, ERISA, ACA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Payroll & Compliance: Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in payroll processing and related HR functions. Ensure payroll processes align with legal, regulatory, and compliance standards across all regions. Support audits and data governance efforts to ensure Payroll operational integrity. Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of compensation structures
  • Company Integration: Develop and execute strategies to connect and support all companies, ensuring cohesive and inclusive employee experience.
  • Employee Relations: Act as a trusted resource for employees at all levels, addressing concerns, cultivating a positive work environment, and creating solutions that promote trust and collaboration. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues with fairness and consistency
  • Operational Excellence: With a in-depth knowledge of labor laws, federal, state and local laws and regulations, oversee and ensure compliance for HR operations, including talent acquisition, performance management, compensation strategies, compliance, onboarding, benefits, payroll, employee handbook/policies and training. Partner with legal, risk, and operational leadership to mitigate HR related risks.


MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years in a Sr. HR leadership role preferably in the construction industry.
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading small, high-performing teams.
  • Strong background in designing and delivering training programs.
  • Deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities of managing multi-company workforces.
  • Track record of driving cultural transformation and enhancing employee engagement.
