Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for performing routine inspection, maintenance, support tasks and preventative maintenance (PM) tasks for all building facilities and critical infrastructure support systems. Provide support for facilities-related contracted services.

Reports to: Sr Manager of Facilities

Functional Responsibilities

Building Facilities and Systems Support

  • Perform walk-through audits of building facilities and systems to ensure proper operating conditions.
  • Provide onsite support for equipment breakdowns and repair needs (i.e. air compressors, boiler, wastewater treatment system, fire systems, HVAC, pumps, chillers, etc). Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
  • Support and execute preventative maintenance program and support plans to ensure facilities support equipment operate properly and efficiently (e.g.: air compressors, boiler, wastewater treatment, fire systems, HVAC, pumps, chillers, security system etc).
  • Execute assigned work orders in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to ensure effective and timely completion. Examples include, but are not limited to the following: wastewater treatment, steam boiler, geothermal, air compressors, water softeners, chillers, power generators, loading docks, etc.
  • Support onsite audits and regulatory inspections (i.e. fire, building, boiler, wastewater treatment system, pest control, etc).

Service Contract Support

  • Support and supplement operational support plans (i.e. pest control, groundskeeping, janitorial, waste management, etc), as required.
  • Support and supplement contracted services (i.e. cleaning services, vending, groundskeeping, parking lots, building security and access, snow removal, landscaping, etc), as required.

General

  • Communicate with all key stakeholders regarding the status of work and issues impacting services.
  • Perform facility-related maintenance work (i.e. painting, carpentry, masonry work, minor dry wall work, floor tile replacement / repair, crack filling, grinding, installation of signage, ceiling tiles, counters and shelving etc), as required.
  • Perform general building cleaning, maintenance and 5S tasks.
  • Order parts and maintain required documentation as required.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, preferred.
  • Ability to use common handheld power tools.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Able to understand and follow directions as given and intended.
  • Must be customer service oriented and able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in either a team or individual basis
  • Must be able and willing to support occasional off-shift work.
  • Basic ability to work with Microsoft suite (i.e. Word, Excel, etc), preferred.

Educational Qualifications & Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of (2) years working experience in facility maintenance, preferred
