- Law Enforcement Experience Required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet Consumer and agency needs.
- Coordinate CIT Training Programs: Manage and schedule CIT training sessions, ensuring that the curriculum is delivered effectively. This includes coordinating with trainers, mental health professionals, and law enforcement personnel.
- Training Implementation: Oversee the organization of training days, ensuring all materials, locations, and resources are prepared. Facilitate role-playing exercises, practical experience sessions, and site visits as part of the training.
- Partnership Management: Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, mental health professionals, and community organizations to strengthen partnerships and promote the CIT program. Foster relationships ensure seamless coordination and engagement from all stakeholders.
- Program Evaluation and Improvement: Collect feedback from training participants and partners, analyze the effectiveness of training sessions, and implement continuous improvements to the program.
- Resource Development: Create and maintain training resources, including materials for officers, mental health professionals, and community organizations. Ensure all resources are current and aligned with best practices in mental health crisis intervention.
- Advocacy and Outreach: Promote the CIT program within the community and to law enforcement agencies. Provide information and guidance to stakeholders about the benefits of CIT training and how it contributes to improved safety, crisis de-escalation, and better outcomes for people with mental illness.
- Data Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and report on the program's outcomes, including tracking how many officers are trained, the impact on community safety, and the successful redirection of individuals to appropriate behavioral health services.
- Administrative Support: Manage program documentation, including scheduling, records, and reports. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in program coordination or management, preferably in law enforcement, mental health services, or crisis intervention.
- 10+ years of Law enforcement experience required (all resumes must demonstrate law enforcement experience)
- Strong understanding of mental health issues, law enforcement protocols, and crisis intervention techniques.
- Experience building and maintaining partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, mental health professionals, and community organizations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for improving outcomes for individuals in mental health crises and promoting public safety.
- Ability to facilitate training sessions and role-playing exercises.
- Knowledge of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training methods and mental health crisis intervention strategies.
- Familiarity with behavioral health services and resources in the local community.
- Certification or training in crisis intervention or de-escalation techniques.
