We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing nursing staff development, training, and scheduling efforts to foster a skilled and supportive clinical workforce. A key focus of this position is to lead and support quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and overall satisfaction.
The Assistant Director of Nursing will work collaboratively with internal leadership, staff, educational institutions, and community partners to uphold and advance the highest standards of patient care. This position requires regular travel between our Junction City and Manhattan clinic locations based on operational needs.

Essential Job Functions
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and MAs.
- Oversee nursing care and provide direct patient care when needed.
- Serve as acting Director of Nursing (DON) in their absence.
- Support ongoing staff development through training, education, and competency checks.
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards, facility policies, and state/federal regulations.
- Develop, communicate, and enforce nursing policies and procedures.
- Maintain professionalism and collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Use research and technology to enhance patient care and team performance.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Be willing to travel to and work at other clinic locations if needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the DON.
- ADN/ASN or BSN from an accredited college or university required
- Currently licensed/registered in the state of Kansas required
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in family medicine is preferred
- One year of supervisory experience is preferred
- BLS certification is required and may be obtained within 90 days of employment
- Electronic Medical Record superuser a plus
- Project management certification a plus
