Position Summary: This role is responsible for coordinating analytical testing performed by external contract laboratories, generating Certificates of Analysis, reviewing QC laboratory data, and overseeing the release of materials and finished products from the QC laboratory. The QC Data Analyst ensures timely, accurate, and compliant product disposition in accordance with established Thorne Research procedures. All responsibilities are carried out in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) to uphold the highest standards of product quality and consistency.

The QC Data Analyst ensures timely, accurate, and compliant product disposition in accordance with established Thorne Research procedures. All responsibilities are carried out in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) to uphold the highest standards of product quality and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Assembles data from QC Laboratory.
- Creates certificates of analysis (COAs).
- Approves certificates of analysis (COAs).
- Audits LIMS for releases.
- Verifies that all testing has been completed prior to forwarding receiving reports and batch records to QADC.
- Becomes proficient using the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
- Understands company specification sheets (FPSs, RMSs, etc.).
- Coordinates submission and testing of samples requiring analysis by an outside contract laboratory (OCL).
- Receives results from OCLs, verifies correct testing was performed, and enters results in LIMS.
- Reviews and approves OCL results in LIMS.
- Corresponds with OCL representatives for rush analyses and other inquiries.
- Maintains relationships and agreements between Thorne Research and approved OCLs.
- Is committed to impartiality and confidentiality in all aspects of laboratory activities, informs management when risks to impartiality and confidentiality are identified and supports taking steps immediately to minimize such risks.
- Supports maintaining the integrity of the management system as described in ISO 17025 when changes to the management system are planned and implemented.
- Produces accurate and consistent results; attention to detail is essential.
- Prioritizes work and follows through with that plan under minimal supervision.
- Responds to emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Is knowledgeable of the applicable provisions of the Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and maintains knowledge base on an ongoing, timely basis as procedural changes occur without relying on management intervention or direction.
- Follows the QC Laboratory Department policies and procedures and Thorne Research policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Arrives at work as scheduled, starts work at the beginning of a shift, is on time to meetings, completes assigned tasks in a timely manner and works overtime as required.
- Demonstrates initiative and job knowledge by suggesting ideas, discovering new and better ways of accomplishing goals. Finds innovative, well thought-out solutions to problems.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Ability to read and understand the QC Department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and the Thorne Research Employee Handbook.
- Ability to can add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and can interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
