SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Operations Manager role serves as a leader of all strategic and tactical responsibilities for all manufacturing Operations within the Plant. Drives continuous improvement in production control and methods, engineering, maintenance, and other operations.

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Creates the vision, mission, goals, initiatives and organizational capability to deliver: Consistent execution of manufacturing schedule based on sales and production capacity.
  • Develops and implement processes designed to control quality and production related costs.
  • Maintains the physical appearance of the facility by leveraging 6s tools across the site.
  • Leads the daily execution on the plant floor.
  • Builds a culture of health and safety within the department and in accordance with the Plant's future state strategy.
  • Owns the outgoing quality of product shipped from the department as measured by the final good audit, which includes participation in product development, release to production, active process auditing, and formal response to quality holds.
  • Manages cost including oversight of cost center.
  • Builds a high performing organization on the manufacturing floor with respect to both operational discipline as well as positive employee relations.
  • Participates in the process of guiding new products on time and profitably into the Plant facility.
  • Drives continuous improvement activities to improve overall performance of the plant.
  • This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is required; MBA or strong experience in plant financials is highly desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience. Demonstrated cross functional experience in at least 3 of the following areas strongly preferred: Quality, Materials, Maintenance, Value Stream Management, Supplier Quality Management, Production Supervision, Process Engineering, Human Resources, or Health & Safety.
  • Experience in a progressive manufacturing environment including time spent as a second level manufacturing manager is highly desirable.
  • Manufacturing experience in a plastic molding manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • Excellent computer and ERP skills
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement/lean methodology experience

LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Travel will be minimal (less than 10%).
