Rock Island Auction Company(RIAC), the #1 firearms auction house in the world, is searching for professional and reliable Part-Time Shipping & Warehouse Associate.With passion and knowledge for guns (and safety!), our Shipping & Warehouse Associates are responsible for carefully preparing, packing, and shipping thousands of firearms, bladed weaponry, and military and historical collectibles after each auction. This vital role works with care and caution to ensure clients receive auction items in the exact condition upon purchase.
PT hours will be established based on business needs and can fluctuate week to week but would average around 20 - 25 hours a week (possibly less) at a rate of $17.00/hour.RIAC standard hours of operations are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CST and the PT schedules available are either mornings or afternoons.
What does a typical day look like?
Regular moving, transporting, and lifting of 25 pounds with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Significant standing and walking for prolonged periods up to 100% of the time with frequent ascending, descending, or positioning self to maintain moving and transporting consignor items (bending, kneeling, stooping, etc.). Must be able to constantly communicate and exchange accurate information both verbally and written. Must be able to detect, identify, inspect, observe, perceive and assess shipping production operations. Constantly operates and uses computer and other relevant equipment and machinery. Constantly works with and around firearms, bladed weaponry, and valuable collectibles.

What does a typical day look like?
- Post-auction, will spend 90% of your day shipping items to winning bidders. Must handle all collectibles carefully and in a respectful manner. Will build custom crates, as needed, for shipping
- Move inventory to the shipping department
- Pulling, scanning, processing, and packing for inventory moves to Texas
- General labor and some warehouse maintenance required, such as painting, cleaning, sweeping, organizing and taking inventory.
- Other duties as assigned

- Some computer work; must be comfortable using a computer and learning our software program
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Must be 18 years or older. Ability to obtain and maintain active FOID card status (Illinois residents only)
- Prior shipping/warehousing experience is a plus
