Position: Memory Care Director
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as the Director of Memory Care. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for overseeing the well-being of residents with memory care needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in resident care, leadership skills, and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for individuals with memory-related conditions.
Responsibilities
Resident Care:
- Develop and implement individualized resident care plans in accordance with state regulations and industry best practices.
- Monitor and assess residents' physical and cognitive conditions, collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize care.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of caregivers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
- Facilitate regular meetings with families to discuss resident care plans, address concerns, and provide updates on their loved ones' well-being.
- Act as a liaison between families and the caregiving team, fostering open communication and a supportive atmosphere.
- Develop and implement engaging and dignified activity programs tailored to the unique needs and preferences of residents with memory care requirements.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance activity offerings to promote residents' cognitive, emotional, and physical well-being.
- Work hands-on to ensure the implementation of care plans and activity programs that enhance the overall quality of life for residents.
- Foster a culture of dignity, respect, and person-centered care within the memory care community.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident care plans, assessments, and other relevant documentation.
- Collaborate with other department heads and participate in leadership meetings to contribute to the overall success of the community.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (LPN) is preferred but not required; equivalent experience in resident care is acceptable.
- Proven experience in hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising a team, preferably in a memory care setting.
- Knowledge of state regulations pertaining to memory care facilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with residents, families, and staff.
- Passion for working with individuals with memory care needs and commitment to enhancing their quality of life.
- Ability to work hands-on and lead by example in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
