Key Responsibilities
- Conduct jobsite inspections to identify safety hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Assist with the implementation of the company's Safety Program, including policies, procedures, and training initiatives.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses; document findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Support toolbox talks, safety stand-downs, and field-level risk assessments.
- Monitor site activities for safety adherence and intervene when unsafe behaviors or conditions are identified.
- Maintain safety logs, inspection reports, training records, and audit findings.
- Work with field teams to enforce PPE use and safe work practices.
- Assist with new employee orientations and training on safety procedures and expectations.
- Act as a safety liaison between the jobsite and corporate HSE leadership.
- Travel to multiple project sites to ensure consistent application of safety standards.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field, OR 2+ years of experience in a field safety role within heavy civil construction.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety practices, and environmental health standards.
- Completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and influence teams.
- Capable of handling high-pressure situations with confidence and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety reporting software.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites regionally.
