Position Overview

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will lead and oversee the quality assurance initiatives across our manufacturing operations. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with industry standards, maintaining high-quality production, and driving continuous improvement. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will manage a team of inspectors, coordinate internal and external audits, and develop programs to enhance quality metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain work instructions to satisfy ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Supervise and train quality assurance personnel, ensuring inspection criteria are established and maintained for in-process and final inspections.
  • Conduct internal and external quality audits and collaborate with suppliers to meet quality standards.
  • Establish and manage an instrumentation calibration program to ensure all critical instruments are calibrated and maintained.
  • Oversee the Corrective Action Program, including investigating and resolving quality issues, coordinating with customers and suppliers as necessary.
  • Perform first-article inspections on incoming goods and new products, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Develop and implement qualifications for employees performing special processes such as welding, in partnership with relevant departments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define and monitor test requirements for each product model.
  • Apply statistical techniques to measure and analyze quality efforts, ensuring data-driven decisions.
  • Participate in supplier evaluations and work with purchasing to develop qualification criteria for suppliers.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic and electrical schematics, and written instructions.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control systems.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to implement effective solutions.
  • Proven experience in training and supervising employees in quality assurance practices.
  • Expertise in developing and monitoring quality programs and conducting quality audits.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Additional technical or quality-related certifications are preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within quality assurance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 requirements, auditing procedures, and calibration of inspection and test equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively at all organizational levels.
