To recruit, support and engage volunteers who serve to expand JABA’s capacity and meet needs in the local community. This position promotes and advocates for JABA’s engagement program and volunteerism in general (and has a significant intergenerational focus).
Essential Functions
Assist with Management and Supervision –Recruitment, screening, training and recognition of JABA volunteers; Supervise activities of select volunteers.
Partnership Development – As needed, collaborate with JABA departments; participate in community meetings; network with community groups and organizations for purposes of volunteer recruitment and program development. Assist with external partner activities to broaden JABA’s community outreach.
Assist with Data Management and Reporting – maintain data collection systems to report on impact of programs to funders and stakeholders and evaluate effectiveness of programs; utilize information to improve results continuously.
Assist with Event Planning – Works with the Community Engagement Manager to plan training events and workshops to train and engage volunteers; plan and support volunteer recognition events.
Professional Development: Complete 10 hours of professional development/training annually.

Competencies
Employee works primarily in an office environment. Telework may be permitted. This position also requires the employee to travel by automobile and be exposed to changing weather conditions. The employee works in varied business environments based on program needs.
Telecommuting is permitted on the decision of supervising manager after probation has been completed. Employees are required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy and the ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable).

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is a largely sedentary role. The employee is regularly required to participate in online and in-person meetings and communicate effectively with team members, peers, and community partners. Employee uses a computer extensively for data entry and other functions of the position. The position primarily works from an office or telecommuting environment and may be asked to travel to other locations within Virginia but primarily within PD10. Occasional lifting or moving of volunteer donations, preparing them for distribution to JABA centers.

This is a part-time position working 20 hours, Monday – Friday
Travel
Travel is primarily local travel during the business day.
Required Education And Experience
Demonstrated proficient to intermediate user of Microsoft Office Suite and other applications such as Zoom. Experience with online data management.

Required Education And Experience
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Bachelor’s degree or 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience preferred
