About Us

We’re a fast-paced, no-nonsense boutique law firm in DC, and we’re looking for our go-to operations expert—the one who keeps the lights on, the attorneys focused, and the wheels turning behind the scenes.

This isn’t a “receptionist in disguise” role. This is a legal admin meets office manager meets mini-COO kind of gig. You’ll be at the center of it all: systems, billing, HR, tech, vendors, and more. You’re the glue. The engine. The “I already fixed it” person. If you’re one of those people who sees inefficiency and gets physically uncomfortable, read on.

What You’ll Do

Operations & Admin

  • Manage day-to-day office operations—HR, vendors, staff onboarding, payroll support
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies, bar rules, and IOLTA requirements
  • Own internal communications and keep our team in sync and on schedule

Billing & Finance

  • Handle timekeeping, billing, invoicing, and collections
  • Assist with budget tracking, financial reporting, and expense management
  • Reconcile accounts and support external accountants as needed

Technology & Tools

  • Run the tools that run the firm: Clio, QuickBooks, Asana, Google Workspace
  • Maintain digital filing systems, streamline workflows, and introduce new tech when needed
  • Build processes, not just follow them—automation is your love language

Legal Admin Support

  • Format, proofread, and manage legal documents and correspondence
  • Track deadlines and maintain the firm calendar
  • Support case management, client onboarding, and special projects

Requirements

What You Bring

  • 3–7+ years in a law firm or professional services ops/admin role
  • Confidence running the business side of a small firm independently
  • Pro-level multitasking and task-juggling abilities
  • Tech-savvy and systems-oriented—Clio, Google Workspace, Asana, QuickBooks, etc.
  • Strong writing, organization, and communication skills
  • Discretion, maturity, and a get-it-done mindset

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary: $75K–$115K/year, based on experience
  • Annual performance bonuses
  • Paid time off + holiday break (Christmas to New Year’s)
  • Health, dental, vision, and disability insurance
  • Commuter benefits
  • Sunshine Fridays: early closures on select Fridays
  • Close access to leadership + long-term growth opportunities

Sound Like You?

We Want To Hear From People Who

  • Get sh*t done without being asked
  • Build systems that others thank them for
  • Stay calm under pressure and organized under chaos
  • Want to grow with a firm that’s growing, too

To Apply

Please submit your resume and a cover letter answering the following:

  • Why this role (and this firm)?
  • How do you stay ahead of problems before they happen?
  • What does "owning your role" mean to you?

No generic intros. No copy-paste summaries. We want your real voice.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
