- Meets all requirements of Approved Autism Evaluation Center (AAEC) to perform diagnostic services as defined by Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Care Network.
- Provides diagnostic services using selected standardized and informal assessment procedures to determine the nature, severity, and prognosis for rehabilitation of language, communication, and oral-motor disorders based on the developmental age of the child/adolescent. Recommends and implements treatment procedures based on these findings.
- Provides speech and language therapy services as indicated based on the developmental age/needs of the individual served.
- Provides leadership and consultation to the Center for Autism staff for skill development.
- Provides oral-motor and feeding diagnostic services and treatment for children/adolescents/ young adults.
- Assesses and coordinates for augmentative/assistive communication technology.
- Provides developmental speech, language and functional communication skill development.
- Maintains complete and accurate clinical and billing records reflecting clinical services rendered.
- Keeps supervisor informed of clinical issues, problems, and professional activities.
- Assists to keep team abreast of research findings and new techniques in the field of child/ adolescent speech/language pathology and cognitive rehabilitation.
- Participates in quality assurance, program evaluation, and curriculum rating scale activities as assigned.
- Minimum Education required: Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Holds ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech/language pathology or equivalent or is a CFY candidate for ASHA's CCC in speech.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in verbal and written formats to meet position expectation.
- Valid driver’s license required according to Hope Network policy.
- Two to five years’ experience with emphasis on children and adolescents.
- Prior clinical experience with individuals with developmental disability or diagnosis of autism disorder.
