Description

This position will partner with the Vice President of Human Resources to advance talent strategies that cultivate a culture of growth, engagement, and agility at Sunward Credit Union.

This critical role will lead initiatives that elevate leadership effectiveness, deepen employee engagement, and strengthen our succession pipeline. By aligning talent strategies with business goals, this position will help unlock the potential of every employee—ensuring they are growing, thriving, and ready for the future. Key responsibilities include overseeing performance management, talent reviews, and career development frameworks to consistently attract, develop, and retain top talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talent Planning
  • Develop and lead a transparent, equitable talent review and succession planning process.
  • Guide internal mobility, high-potential identification, and promotion readiness practices.
  • Ensure cross-functional calibration and leadership pipeline development.
  • Performance Management
  • Lead the enterprise performance management strategy and execution, aligning goals, feedback, and evaluations with business outcomes.
  • Partner with leaders to ensure consistency and fairness in performance evaluations.
  • Equip managers with tools, training, and insights to coach and elevate team performance.
  • Leadership Development (LeadForward Sunward Leadership Program)
  • Design and continuously evolve the LeadForward leadership development program, supporting managers and senior leaders at all levels.
  • Align leader development curriculum with enterprise competencies, performance expectations, and future-readiness.
  • Manage executive coaching, mentoring programs, and high-potential employee initiatives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of Sunward’s LeadForward leadership development programs and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Organizational Effectiveness & Change Management
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders on organizational structure, role clarity, spans and layers, and future workforce design.
  • Partner with business units to build readiness, reduce resistance, and accelerate adoption of new initiatives.
  • Coach leaders on leading through change and driving engagement during transitions.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred) and 8+ years of progressive HR or talent management experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role, or a combination of experience and education.
  • Proven success in building and scaling performance and talent programs in a complex organization.
  • Strong knowledge of talent lifecycle practices, including performance management, learning and development, and succession planning.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and project management abilities.

Salary Description

$102,960.75-$137,281.00 (Depending on Experience)
