Senior Director Global Security & Investigations

The Sr Director of Global Security and Investigations is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the comprehensive oversight of global security, investigative operations, and flight operations within the company. This includes safeguarding the organization's facilities and assets, ensuring the safety of senior executives and associates, and maintaining robust security protocols across all company locations.

The individual in this position will regularly interact with senior executives, including the CEO and other members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and has direct responsibility for the company’s executive protection program, global facilities protection, corporate security measures, and flight operations team. Additionally, this role involves establishing and directing programs to prevent workplace violence and other security threats.

The Sr Director of Global Security and Investigations reports directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), ensuring that all security initiatives align with the company's overall strategic objectives.

Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Global Investigation:
    • Lead and manage professional investigations related to matters such as fraud, theft, violence, loss of intellectual property, bribes, kickbacks, and conflicts of interest across all company locations. Develop detailed protocols for conducting investigations, ensuring that all findings are thoroughly documented and reported to senior management. Collaborate with Compliance & Ethics and Internal Audit teams to pursue necessary actions based on investigation results.

  • Executive Protection:
    • Design and implement the company’s executive protection program, ensuring the safety and security of senior executives around the world and board members. Conduct risk assessments for executive travel and engagements, coordinate security arrangements, and establish emergency response plans. Maintain close coordination with local and international security agencies to facilitate secure executive movements.

  • Corporate Security:
    • Oversee the Corporate security organization, establishing preventative programs and measures to safeguard company assets, associates, and visitors on our campus in Akron, OH. Conduct regular security audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with established security standards.

  • Global Security Leadership:
    • Influence and manage physical security operations across all global locations, ensuring consistent and effective security practices. Develop and implement global security policies and procedures, adapting them to local contexts and regulations. Provide ongoing support and guidance to regional security teams, fostering a culture of security awareness and resilience.

  • Law Enforcement Liaison:
    • Maintain direct interactions with members of law enforcement agencies, providing support and guidance in security-related matters. Build and sustain strong relationships with local, national, and international law enforcement entities. Facilitate information sharing and collaboration on security threats and incidents.

  • Flight Operations:
    • Provide oversight to the flight operations team, including pilots and crew for the corporate jet, and manage the executive driver services. Ensure all flight operations adhere to strict safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Coordinate scheduling and logistics for executive travel, maintaining the highest standards of service and efficiency.

  • Program Development:
    • Establish and direct programs to address workplace matters such as violence, threats, fraud, harassment, drug use, dual employment, due diligence, suspicious persons/events, bomb and terrorist threats, telephone/computer misuse, and special security requests. Develop training and awareness programs for associates, promoting a safe and secure working environment. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of these programs, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
Key Experience

  • Bachelors in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field; Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in global security and investigation roles, with a proven track record in executive protection and corporate security management.
  • Previous experience in a large, multinational company is required.
  • Previous experience in managing a large team is required.
  • Previous experience working in fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives and law enforcement agencies.

  • Understanding of international security issues and the ability to navigate diverse cultural contexts.
