As the Consumer Marketing Communications Director, you will lead the global strategy and execution of consumer-facing communication programs for the Abbott Libre CGM portfolio. Reporting into Global Strategic Marketing, this Director-level role is accountable for shaping the brand’s voice and driving deep engagement across the diabetes consumer journey—before, during, and after launch.
You will lead a team of high-performing marketers to create integrated global campaigns rooted in customer insights and designed to elevate brand preference, drive category leadership, and deliver measurable business results. This role plays a pivotal part in setting the creative direction, messaging frameworks, and go-to-market toolkits for all consumer channels, in partnership with Area and Local Marketing teams.
You will serve as a strategic leader and key partner to cross-functional leaders across commercial marketing, digital experience, insights, HCP marketing, and agency partners to ensure consistency, innovation, and relevance of consumer programs globally. This role requires a high level of comfort navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities—setting a clear vision, fostering alignment, and driving momentum even amidst complexity.

The base pay for this position is $169,300.00 – $338,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.

What You’ll Work On
- Own the end-to-end strategy and development of global consumer communication platforms across key initiatives, product launches, and lifecycle campaigns
- Define and evolve Libre’s consumer brand positioning and core value propositions based on insights, competitive dynamics, and market trends
- Build, lead, and mentor a team of marketers to drive strategic execution, creative development, and performance optimization across regions
- Shape and manage a global network of agency partners to deliver high-impact creative, paid media, social, and digital campaigns aligned with brand strategy
- Partner closely with Area teams to ensure the relevance, localization, and adoption of global campaign assets and messaging
- Align closely with HCP marketing, digital, and commercial counterparts to deliver an integrated experience
- Provide strategic clarity in fast-moving environments; guide teams and stakeholders through uncertainty with confidence and focus
- Lead strategic input and communications planning for brand strategy forums, senior leadership presentations, and global marketing planning cycles
- Ensure brand consistency and excellence in execution across all consumer-facing materials globally
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
- 12+ years in consumer marketing roles
- Demonstrated success leading high-performing marketing teams in a global, matrixed organization
- Proven experience developing and launching consumer campaigns at scale
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive results amid ambiguity—setting direction, fostering adaptability, and maintaining focus through changing circumstances
- Exceptional storytelling, presentation, and communication skills
- Travel globally (15%) including field immersion and international team workshops
- MBA or Master’s degree in relevant field
- Experience in diabetes, medtech, or digital health preferred
- Familiarity with omnichannel marketing, measurement frameworks, and marketing technology platforms
- Experience managing agency networks and global campaign development across regions
- Ability to operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments with competing priorities
