Essential Functions
The Human Resources Manager plays a key role in supporting the mission and values of the organization by overseeing all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance, and benefits administration. This role ensures that HR practices align with nonprofit values such as equity, transparency, and community impact, while fostering a positive workplace culture.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, twisting, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping during shift. The employee must frequently lift items up to 50 pounds to a 36-inch height and 25 pounds to a 48-inch height. Push and pull items up to 250 pounds and slide items up to 150 pounds.

Essential Functions
The Human Resources Manager plays a key role in supporting the mission and values of the organization by overseeing all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance, and benefits administration. This role ensures that HR practices align with nonprofit values such as equity, transparency, and community impact, while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support the organization’s mission, values, and strategic goals.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and offboarding.
- Aide in administering and evaluating employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and wellness initiatives.
- Maintain and improve HRIS system.
- Serve as a contact for employee benefits questions and issues, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and nonprofit-specific regulations.
- Payroll back-up responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and staff on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Prepare HR reports and metrics for leadership and board reporting as needed.

Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, benefits administration, and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
