Position Purpose

The Program & Event Manager is responsible for working with the Director of Events to develop, organize, and implement public events and community engagement programs for Bonnet Springs Park. This position will manage the process of event planning, collaborate with all departments to execute events, and implement meaningful and impactful experiences for guests that are high-quality, increase awareness of the Park, and welcome all guests.

Essentials Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director of Events to organize and execute all public events at BSP
  • Assist Director with research of community interests and preparation of unique, exciting, and diverse concepts
  • Develop event concepts and logistics for events to include venue preparation, schedules, layouts, and internal communication
  • Manage assigned projects and provide communications, coordination, and organizational support to Director throughout the event cycle of signature events at BSP
  • Select, book, and manage complementary event elements such as vendors, talent, entertainment, as well as innovative engagement tools or resources that reduce barriers to equitable participation and increase involvement from underrepresented communities
  • Further the mission and enhance awareness of Bonnet Springs Park and its brand among key stakeholders
  • Foster positive and collaborative relationships with vendors, community groups, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and institutions that expand community engagement and programmatic efforts
  • Be able to execute Bonnet Springs events. Work as an event lead or support for assigned events, work at all signature events
  • Conduct all business in a moral and ethical manner leaving no room to question the integrity of the park or its staff
  • Follow BSP and team rules, policies and procedures for events, including use of organization tools and maintaining records
  • Represent BSP at community events, facilitate activities, and interact with event participants by sharing information related to park facilities, programs and opportunities
  • Coordinate timely and accurate responses and information to team, other departments, vendors, citizens, community groups or governmental agencies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Experience

  • At least 2 years of work in event/program coordination and management
  • Industry and community relationship management experience
