Job Summary
The HR Assistant coordinates and processes a variety of activities associated with the facility Human Resources Department. Processes and maintains copies of certain documents and information related to payroll, benefits, new hire onboarding, employee relations, employee engagement, employee credentials/competencies and employee and contractor files recordkeeping. Coordinates with various hospital, Regional and Corporate HR personnel to ensure compliance with human resources related activities including but not limited to new hire onboarding and orientation process, performance appraisals, payroll, benefits, status changes, termination requests, employee recognition, licensure verification and personnel files recordkeeping. This person also refers employee relations, disciplinary issues, termination requests and other HR policy interpretation and compliance matters to appropriate Regional and Corporate HR personnel.

This person also refers employee relations, disciplinary issues, termination requests and other HR policy interpretation and compliance matters to appropriate Regional and Corporate HR personnel.
Essential Functions
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key function satisfactorily based on several skills categories; assessment, planning, coordination, evaluation and organization

- On-site coordination and support of on-going activities that includes hiring, new hire orientation, training, employee education, performance evaluations, employee relations, leaves of absence, employee recognition and other items encompassed within Human Resources functions and activities. Issues employee and contractor badges. Answers general employee inquiries regarding HR policy, procedures and practices.
- Ensures that all personnel records and files for employees and contractors are neat, organized, up-to-date, and meet compliance standards which includes all Federal, State and regulatory agencies and standards to include The Joint Commission and the State Department of Health. All personnel records filing must be done timely. Follows standard procedure for maintaining personnel files and records. Ensures personnel files are HIPAA compliant.
- Facilitates and supports on-going key hospital and Corporate HR tasks and initiatives including the annual performance and merit review process, annual employee engagement process, Wellness Program, awards and recognition programs, etc. Provides administrative and clerical support and responds to general employee and leadership requests and inquiries as necessary. Communicates routinely with Regional and/or Corporate HR personnel to help ensure that HR initiatives are on-track per plan.
- Facilitates and refers all employee relations, planned disciplinary actions, termination requests, policy interpretation issues, legal matters and any other applicable requests to the Regional and Corporate HR personnel to properly handle. Facilitates internal communication regarding these HR related subjects with applicable hospital leaders.
- Ensures that all personnel status changes, new hire paperwork, payroll, benefits and other required documentation is processed in an accurate and timely manner. Performs Primary Source Verification (PSV) for licensed new hires, existing licensed staff and contracted personnel and coordinates with them to ensure timely receipt of documents for recordkeeping and compliance purposes. Understands how to use HRIS database.

- High school diploma. Some college preferred.
- None
- Two years of Human Resources Assistant, or equivalent, experience in a healthcare setting, hospital environment preferred.
