Job Purpose:

Responsible for assisting the operations and administrative departments of the hotel to include Sales, Human Resources, Accounting, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Front Desk.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Sales/HR/Accounting Coordinators in their daily functions.
  • Assists the Food & Beverage department with bus person duties to include cleaning tables, serving guest with beverages and replenishing as necessary. Wipe down booths and chairs, move table and chairs, and clean floors as necessary. Replenish the breakfast buffet area of food, condiments and beverages.
  • Assists the Housekeeping department in the following areas:
    • Laundry attendant duties to include sorting, washing, drying and folding of linen. Distribute linen to closets or attendants upon request. Clean laundry area.
    • House person duties to include removing soiled linen and trash from room attendants' cart, vacuums, sweeps, and/or mops hallways, and stairwells obtain amenities and supplies for room attendants.
    • Room attendant duties to include the cleaning of guest rooms, bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, counters and floors. Change linen and make beds in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Assist Guest Services Agents to greet guest, provide prompt and courteous service during guest stay. Expedite special guest requests, such as extra towels, blankets, or pillows. Answer phones and provide accurate information such as local attractions and seasonal events.
  • Assist departments with guest satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned as a floater of the hotel.

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

  • Reports all unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Keeps work area neat and organized.
  • Must maintain a good working relationship with other departments, team members and guests.
  • Maintain and ensure confidentiality where necessary.
  • Reports all suspicious persons, activities or hazardous conditions to the appropriate department.
  • Respond to guest questions. Provide guest assistance, directions, and information as requested.
  • Provide instructions and/or guidance for guest and employee.
  • Other duties as assigned to include providing support to all departments within the hotel, when necessary.

Qualifications Standards

Education:

Current high school attendee, graduate or equivalent required.

Experience:

No prior experience required.

License/Certificates:

Texas Food Handler's Certification
