Position Summary

The Production Planner is responsible for all aspects of production planning for AVITA products and assemblies at the Ventura plant to meet customer needs and comply with quality and regulatory requirements. The Production Planner works with the Supply Chain Manager and Production Manager to support the Sales and Operations Planning process, drives the Master Production Schedule and monitors its execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with the Supply Chain Manager or designee to plan production builds via the Sales and Operations Planning process.
  • Manages and drives the Master Production Schedule for all assemblies and finished goods.
  • Issues work orders per production build plan as well as engineering requirements.
  • Monitors status of Work in Progress including timely resolution, communication, and mitigation of potential build problems.
  • Maintains material master planning parameters (lead time, yield, safety stocks) to keep optimal inventory levels.
  • Manages ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics D365) and provides means for real-time inventory queries for various stakeholders.
  • Reviews the success of internal processes and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Collaborates with internal customers (Finance, Quality, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Production) and provides a high level of customer service.
  • Reports to management periodically, both formally and informally, on production status and performance data.
  • Understands and reinforces within the areas of responsibility the fundamentals and principles of Good Documentation Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice.
  • Supports company goals and objectives.
  • Complies with policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Production Planning, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Business, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years’ relevant work experience in supply chain-related fields, preferably in Production Planning and Inventory Management.
  • Experience in the medical device industry desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of production planning, MRP and inventory management.
  • Proficient in MS Office with advanced skills in MS Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (D365) or other ERP systems.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing procedures, specifications, Bill of Materials, spreadsheets, and reports.
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic environment with the flexibility to conform to shifting priorities, competing demands and timelines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task while showing excellence in performing all other responsibilities and activities.
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objective.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interface with all departments and levels of management.
