Position Summary

The After School Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the after school program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for youth participants ages 13-22. This role requires a compassionate leader who thrives in a team setting, has experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, and is passionate about making a difference in their lives.

Key Responsibilities

    • Develop & supervise daily after school program activities and ensure alignment with Mychal’s Learning Place mission and values.
    • Provide direct supervision, guidance, and mentorship to program participants.
    • Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, including academics, arts, life skills, and recreational programming.
    • Collaborate with parents/guardians, school personnel, and staff to support participants’ goals and needs.
    • Supervise and support program staff, interns, and volunteers, including scheduling, training, and performance feedback.
    • Maintain accurate attendance, incident, and progress reports.
    • Ensure all safety, health, and organizational policies and procedures are followed.
    • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative environment for youth and staff.
    • Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and community events.
    • Support fundraising, special events, or outreach efforts as needed.
Qualifications

Required:

    • High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, or related field preferred)
    • 2+ years of experience working with youth or individuals with developmental disabilities
    • Supervisory or leadership experience in a youth program or educational setting
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
    • Background check clearance
Preferred

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language)
    • Knowledge of disability rights, special education, or inclusion practices
    • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and behavior support strategies
Salary: Dependent upon experience
