Job Overview

South West Pump & Drilling Inc. is actively hiring an experienced Pump Installer to join our high-performance field team. In this essential role, you will lead the removal, installation and rehabilitation of water well and pump systems-working with line shaft turbine, submersible pumps, centrifugal, and split case. You'll diagnose pump deficiencies, perform chemical and mechanical well rehab, and maintain a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate pump rigs and support equipment with proficiency and safety.
  • Chemical installation for well rehabilitation
  • Install, remove, inspect, and service all types of water pumps and associated systems.
  • Conduct well rehabilitation using wire brushing, bailing, swabbing, and airlifting methods.
  • Diagnose pump problems using mechanical expertise and hydraulics knowledge.
  • Perform three-phase electrical disconnects and reconnections of pump motors.
  • Maintain tools, rigs, and job site safety compliance at all times.
  • Train and supervise crew members while fostering teamwork and safety.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, engineers, and clients.
  • Keep accurate daily logs, worksheets, and post-project reviews.
  • Provide input on pump inspections, repairs, and maintenance planning.

Qualifications

  • Class A or B CDL preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant field experience with water pumps or well systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with pump diagnostics.
  • Must be able to deadlift 80-100 lbs overhead regularly.
  • Basic three-phase electrical skills (for pump motors) required.
  • Welding and cutting torch experience is a must.
  • Good communication skills-verbal, written, and team-focused.
  • High physical stamina and willingness to work outdoors and on remote sites.
  • Willingness to travel and stay out of town for short-term project durations.
  • Dependable and able to work well in a team environment.
  • Solid math skills for field measurements and calculations.

Schedule
