Peak Energy is seeking a Battery Test Technician Intern to support our cell and materials testing lab. In this hands-on role, you will assist in the execution of battery testing protocols, data collection, and analysis under the supervision of senior engineers. This role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in engineering, chemistry, physics, or related disciplines who are eager to gain hands-on experience in battery performance and reliability testing.

Peak Energy is seeking a Battery Test Technician Intern to support our cell and materials testing lab. In this hands-on role, you will assist in the execution of battery testing protocols, data collection, and analysis under the supervision of senior engineers. This role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in engineering, chemistry, physics, or related disciplines who are eager to gain hands-on experience in battery performance and reliability testing.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and execute battery cell tests (incoming inspection, cycle life, capacity etc.)
- Operate battery cyclers, environmental chambers, and data acquisition systems
- Monitor tests and log performance data with accuracy and attention to detail
- Assist in failure analysis and teardown inspections
- Perform basic data analysis and prepare reports or presentations
- Follow lab safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field
- Coursework or lab experience in electrochemistry, thermodynamics, materials, or energy systems preferred
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel; experience with Python or MATLAB is a plus
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Enthusiasm for batteries, renewable energy, and hands-on technical work
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Data analysis automation and coding skills
- Experience in electrical testing
