About The Role
We're looking for a highly analytical and proactive Finance Associate to take a leading role in shaping our financial planning, decision support, and operational insights. This elevated position goes beyond traditional FP&A, integrating strategic analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and systems thinking to help Lightship scale.
You’ll partner closely with teams across the organization to deliver the insights that drive smarter, faster decisions. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to step into a more strategic role with visibility across the leadership team.
Responsibilities

About The Role
We're looking for a highly analytical and proactive Finance Associate to take a leading role in shaping our financial planning, decision support, and operational insights. Responsibilities
- Own and evolve financial planning processes including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling
- Drive strategic decision-making through robust financial analysis, business case development, and performance measurement
- Partner cross-functionally to support cost control strategies and ROI
- Support product development teams by modeling investment trade-offs and resourcing plans
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to provide real-time visibility into business performance
- Lead monthly Budget vs. Actuals (BvA) reviews with stakeholders, communicating insights and guiding resource allocation
- Automate and improve internal finance processes through better systems, documentation, and tools (e.g., NetSuite, Excel models)
- Support long-term planning with scenario modeling and capital allocation frameworks
- Build trust and accountability with leaders across the business by being a reliable, data-driven thought partner
- 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or consulting
- Strong working knowledge of 3-statement financial models
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex processes and communicate with non-finance stakeholders
- Previous financial experience in hardware or manufacturing sectors
- High attention to detail with the ability to connect the dots between granular data and company-wide strategy
- A proactive and resourceful approach—you don’t wait for instructions; you seek clarity, build, and iterate
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERPs, and business intelligence tools
- Demonstrated success in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where priorities evolve quickly
- Motivation to help build a high-impact, mission-driven climatetech company—and a desire to be part of a small, passionate team shaping the future of electric RVs
- Lightship compensation consists of the yearly salary above plus equity, which gives you a stake in the company
