Job Description And Duties
This job posting is being used to fill a permanent, full-time Correctional Plant Supervisor, DOC (CPS) position. The vacancy will be filled in accordance with implemented hiring restrictions.

Under the direction of the Correctional Plant Manager I (CPMI), the CPS plans and directs staff in the repair and preventative maintenance of the institution/physical plant. Prepares major and minor Capital Outlay project specifications, special repairs, section six specifications and Budget Change Proposal documents. Prepares and supervises the preparation of Public Works Contracts specifications as well as coordinating facility contract work and warranty work. Oversees and assures compliance to mandated Preventative Maintenance Program and monthly reports. Oversees and assures staff are utilizing the proper tool control procedures, maintains order and supervises the conduct of persons committed to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Responsible for the supervision of the supervisors and staff in all aspects regarding the operation of the physical plant and systems. Prepares probationary reports, Annual Individual Development Plans, counseling reports, and initiates progressive discipline when necessary. In addition, the CPS may act on behalf of the CPMI in their absence and stays abreast of all related duties.

The CPS is required to respond to emergencies outside of normal work hours and may serve as the CPMI during absences.

You must have taken and passed the appropriate examination for this classification, be a current state employee with lateral transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility in order to apply for this position.
