Salary Range: $75,000.00-$85,00.00

About The Company

Vintner’s Distributors is the corporate arm for Loop Neighborhood Market and is based in Union City, Calif., with stores and stations across California. The company was founded in 1978 and develops real estate and owns and operates gas stations with convenience stores and car washes. Loop Neighborhood Market also has a wholesale division that delivers fuel to dealer locations in the market.

Position Summary

We are seeking a driven Junior Category Manager to support the growth and profitability of assigned product categories. Working closely with an experienced Category Manager, this role will assist in vendor management, pricing, merchandising, marketing, and data analysis to help meet revenue and gross profit goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Category Strategy: Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and internal data to support category growth plans.
  • Assortment Planning: Identify new products, maintain schematics, and manage phase-outs of underperforming SKUs.
  • Promotions & Pricing: Support the development of promotional strategies and monitor competitive pricing.
  • Vendor Management: Assist in building strong, long-term vendor relationships.
  • Data Analysis: Leverage analytics tools to evaluate performance and support decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations and site teams for feedback and execution support.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and mitigate category risks.
  • Special Projects: Complete projects as assigned by the Director of Marketing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in retail, merchandising, category management, or a related area
  • Strong Excel skills; comfortable working with large data sets and using data to inform decisions
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-focused mindset
  • Flexible, problem-solver with a proactive, hands-on approach
  • Negotiation skills and vendor relationship experience are a plus
