Position Summary:
The Sr Accountant will lead the day-to-day accounting operations and monthly financial reporting process. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial data, supporting internal and external audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

The Sr Accountant will lead the day-to-day accounting operations and monthly financial reporting process. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial data, supporting internal and external audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close activities.
- Ensure the integrity of the general ledger by maintaining accurate and timely accounting records.
- Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements and board-level financial reporting packages.
- Support the preparation and timely submission of regulatory filings, including Call Reports, FR Y-9 reports, and other compliance-related documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to accounting staff; act as a resource for complex transactions and policy interpretation.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with community banking experience.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, timely financial information.
- Effective communicator with the ability to explain financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exercises sound judgment, discretion, and integrity in handling confidential financial information.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and banking-specific accounting principles.
- Experience with financial reporting and general ledger management.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with bank regulatory reporting (Call Reports, FR Y-9, etc.).
- Experience with Fiserv/DNA.
