This is a full-time management position that reports to the Director of Crisis Services. This service team is responsible for delivering services that meet the needs of clients, customers, constituents, and the community in compliance with performance and production standards and with requirements of regulatory bodies and/or contracts. This position shares on call responsibilities and must be willing to have a flexible schedule to assure adequate coverage to meet program needs.
Key Responsibility Areas
Within parameters established by the Director of Crisis Services, the Lead Manager of Crisis Services is responsible for: 1) Providing clinical and administrative oversight to Crisis staff including the Hotline / 988, Warm Line, Mobile Team, and the Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) 2) the Implementation of Policy and Procedure while ensuring the quality of clinical services while minimizing risks to client and agency and 3) Assisting the Director of Crisis Services in developing and growing the programs.
Key Responsibilities
In order to perform the essential functions of this job, after an orientation period, the employee must possess the following: a working knowledge of Riveon Mental Health and Recovery Policy and Procedures, including sensitivity and adherence to clients’ rights, confidentiality, trauma informed care, and health and safety issues. This position must also exhibit sensitivity to different cultures and be able to present information and respond to questions from management, employees, and the general public. Reacts to change and stress productively and handles other related tasks as assigned.
This position also must exhibit an understanding of diverse health and human services and how they can contribute to insuring that clients lead as full and productive life as possible. This position must also understand the complexities of programming and understand how to simplify this complexity in such a way as to render Center programming accessible and productive.
Personal skills would include good organization skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work productively with a wide variety of personalities.
Working Conditions
The majority of time is spent in an office environment. The employee may be required to sit for extended periods and will spend a portion of their time on the telephone. Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, and lift and push minimal loads at various times. A considerable amount of time may also be spent working on a computer so the employee should have close vision ability. The employee will also have a great deal of client contact, either in person or on the phone, so they must have good speaking and language skills, as well as the ability to interact successfully with others. Availability for on-call emergencies of consultation including evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends will be necessary as well as on-site coverage.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must possess an independent license (LISW or LPCC) in the state of Ohio. Must have a minimum of five years' experience in behavioral healthcare with additional experience in a supervisory role with clinical and managerial responsibilities. Must have knowledge of psychiatric emergency intervention. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, be able to interact well with others and work under pressure. Bi-Lingual a plus. Computer expertise, especially Windows & MS Office programs, fiscal and management, and knowledge of total quality improvement systems and managed care environment strongly preferred. Must have a keen understanding of and sensitivity towards the special needs of the severely mentally ill and their integration into the community, and knowledge of chemical use prevention and treatment. Favorable references and/or evaluations are required.

- OVERSEES CRISIS SERVICES STAFF: Responsible for directing, managing, and providing clinical oversight to the Hotline / 988, Warm Line, Mobile Crisis Team, and BHUC as designated by the Director of Crisis Services.
- PROGRAM MANAGEMENT: Responsible for providing supervision to designated staff. Trains, Implements, and Monitors the clinical aspects of programs and documentation provided by Crisis staff. This position is responsible for the coordination of human resource functions, development, and program delivery of Crisis Services. Interview, recommend for hire and orient new staff. In coordination with Department Director, completes and delivers program personnel evaluations.
- PROGRAM BUDGET AND OBJECTIVES: The Lead Manager will assist the Director to develop and propose a yearly work plan for Crisis Services that consists of a budget and measurable staff and program objectives. Coordinates and maintains a fiscally sound system for staffing the 24 hour program.
- ENSURING IMPLEMENTATION OF QUALITY CLINICAL SERVICES: Responsible for the implementation of outcome measures, policies and procedures, and protocols for Crisis Services programs in order to provide quality clinical services to our clients and the community.
- IMPLEMENT AND UTILIZE MEASURES OF INDIVIDUAL AND PROGRAM EFFICACY: This position is responsible for implementing and utilizing results from measures of individual and program efficacy to make necessary adjustments (e.g., training, staffing) that improve the quality of individual client care and program services.
- QUALITY ASSURANCE: This position is responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality clinical services are performed and documented in a manner consistent with all regulatory and accrediting bodies.
- RISK MANAGEMENT: This position will ensure that all Crisis Services staff follows the established procedures and protocols for making determinations about the appropriate level of care for clients in crisis. This position collaborates with area hospitals and physicians, schools, and other mental health providers regarding coordination of care for consumers in crisis situations.
- PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT AND EXPANSION: In collaboration with the Director, is responsible for implementing program standards that meet consumer needs, while maintaining fiscal efficiency.
- PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: Responsible for involvement in identifying and implementing strategies for improving utilization while improving the quality of services provided (examples: decreased response times for Mobile Team, meeting answer rate metrics for Hotline / 988).
- NEW PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: In collaboration with the Director, this position will identify gaps in the provision of crisis services and assist in the creation and implementation of a fiscally responsible plan for addressing unmet needs. Will participate in the planning, implementation, and review of the crisis continuum of care.
- OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
