ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following
- Lead the delivery and facilitation of Laneshift education programs such as The Active Transportation Academy, Benchmarking Tours, and Excursions.
- Facilitate workshops and presentations associated with all programs and projects.
- Develop programs and initiatives that focus on growing a welcoming, accessible, and encouraging culture for active transportation users.
- Maintain ongoing professional and detailed interaction with clients and subcontractors.
- Support the development and implementation of public engagement and outreach plans tailored to individual regions and communities, with a focus on engaging an array of voices and perspectives.
- Assist in the development of proposals and statements of qualifications for prospective projects.
- Review policies and ordinances within communities and develop recommendations for revisions or additions that support and enhance active transportation.
- Analyze and synthesize regional bicycle and pedestrian data for short-range and long-range active transportation plans.
- Support the development of scoping plans for infrastructure projects identified throughout various projects.
- Analyze, synthesize and coordinate GIS data collection and visualization for use in projects.
- Coordinate with the Laneshift team in developing public information and messaging for active transportation plans and initiatives.
- Support, monitor, and report on the progress of consulting and planning projects from beginning through completion.
- Support and assist in coordinating various local committees, public outreach, initiatives, and events associated with current plans.
- Develop and deliver engaging presentations related to active transportation.
- Identify potential grants and assist clients in applying for specific public and private grants programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: We value diverse education and professional backgrounds, provided the candidate possesses the necessary experience and skills to effectively handle the responsibilities of the position. A Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Public Administration, Business or related field is preferred. A minimum, of three years of professional experience, ideally working with municipalities, is highly desirable. An AICP certification or experience in public policy, learning, public speaking, training, or education are beneficial but not required. Proficiency with GIS software product is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transportation, planning, regional and city planning, and active transportation.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as averages, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to utilized and understand geometric principles.
- REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software, Design software, Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
- OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a valid driver license.
