Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), with a primary focus on ensuring ongoing compliance with the current revision of AS9100. This position leads internal audits, coordinates inspector training programs, and supports company-wide quality awareness initiatives. The Quality Manager serves as the management representative for quality matters and promotes a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization
Position: Full-time, Exempt.
Pay: $80,000 - $90,000 annual.

Based in Everett, and serving Snohomish County, Bridgeways incorporated in 1981. Bridgeways is run as a social enterprise, offering manufacturing services to companies of all sizes with projects ranging from sourcing, production, assembly, bonding, and wiring. Bridgeways also offers clinical services to adults living with mental health concerns. Services include Supported Housing, Supported Employment, Therapeutic Courts Programs for mental health and substance use disorders. Bridgeways also has a PATH (Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness) program that engages in community outreach. While our array of programs and methods of delivering services has evolved to meet changing community needs, the ever-shifting healthcare landscape, and taking into account services offered by other providers in Snohomish County – our essential mission has remained the same since 1981.

AS9100 Compliance & Certification
- Ensure the company remains in compliance with AS9100 standards.
- Prepare for and coordinate external audits with certification bodies and customers.
- Maintain documentation and objective evidence to demonstrate conformance.
- Lead management reviews and corrective action planning.
- Plan, schedule, and lead internal audits per AS9100 requirements.
- Train and mentor internal auditors across departments.
- Track audit findings and ensure timely and effective corrective actions.
- Generate and present audit reports to senior leadership.
- Develop and maintain training materials and competency matrices for inspectors.
- Facilitate onboarding and ongoing technical training for quality inspectors.
- Conduct periodic assessments to validate inspector competencies and identify skill gaps.
- Promote adherence to inspection plans, work instructions, and control plans.
- Lead QMS awareness training initiatives across departments.
- Act as a resource for employees to ensure understanding and effective use of quality procedures.
- Collaborate with team leaders to reinforce quality responsibilities and standards at all levels.
- Lead root cause investigations using tools such as 5 Whys, and Fishbone diagrams.
- Ensure timely closure and effectiveness verification of CAPAs.
- Maintain CAPA logs and report trends for proactive improvement opportunities.
- Oversee control of quality-related documents, including procedures, work instructions, and forms.
- Ensure document revision control and distribution complies with QMS standards.
- Maintains Approved Vendor List.
- Assist in the evaluation and qualification of vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance and support vendor corrective actions when necessary.
- Collaborate with teams during onboarding of new customers to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined, documented, and implemented.
- Review and approve customer quality clauses, specifications, and flow-down requirements during contract review.
- Participate in new part introductions by supporting the development of inspection plans, control plans, and quality checkpoints.
- Work closely with production, and supply chain to ensure quality considerations are integrated into new project development from the planning phase through production launch.
- Facilitate First Article Inspections (FAIs) per AS9102 requirements and customer-specific standards.
- Ensure risk assessments, process validations, and capability studies are conducted for new or significantly changed processes.
- Support the establishment and implementation of quality criteria during project implementation and ramp-up phases.
- Act as the quality point of contact for customer inquiries, audits, and quality deliverables related to new projects.
- Acts as the liaison for the Empowered Official in their absence, supporting compliance with ITAR and EAR regulations as applicable to quality and production activities.
- Ensures that quality documentation, records, and customer communications align with U.S. export control requirements.
- Coordinates with appropriate personnel to prevent the unauthorized release of controlled technical data or materials.
- Maintains awareness of export compliance responsibilities as they relate to inspection, documentation, and product handling.
- Directly supervises Quality Inspectors and other personnel within the Quality Department.
- Provides day-to-day oversight of quality department operations, including workload assignment, scheduling, and shift coverage to ensure inspection and quality control activities are effectively supported.
- Conducts regular performance evaluations, sets expectations, and provides coaching and development plans to drive continuous improvement.
- Handles disciplinary actions, corrective counseling, and terminations per company policies.
- Ensure the quality team is properly trained, equipped, and aligned with departmental and organizational goals.
- Monitors team productivity, accuracy, and adherence to inspection and QMS procedures.
- Fosters a collaborative, accountable, and quality-driven team culture.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years of quality management experience in aerospace or manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Certified Lead Internal Auditor (AS9100 preferred).
- Proven experience developing and delivering technical training.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, such as blueprints, and specifications to ensure product conformity and provide guidance on inspection criteria.
- Must communicate clearly and professionally, verbally and in writing, with internal teams, customers, vendors, and auditors.
- Proficiency in writing clear nonconformance reports, audit findings, and training documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP/QMS software preferred.
- Requirement to pass Background check in accordance with Customer Guidelines
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
