Position Summary

The Non-Shareholder Physician at Florida Orthopaedic Institute (FOI) is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered musculoskeletal care in alignment with FOI’s mission to remain the region’s leader in orthopaedic excellence. This role is designed for physicians who are either early in their careers or those who prefer to focus on clinical care without participating in partnership track responsibilities. Physicians in this role collaborate closely with peers, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to deliver evidence-based care while supporting the Institute’s operational and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and treat musculoskeletal conditions in an outpatient and/or surgical setting depending on subspecialty.

Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, referring providers, and the care team.

Document all encounters in FOI’s electronic health record (EHR) system in a timely and compliant manner.

Participate in call coverage on a rotational basis, in accordance with departmental expectations.

Collaborate with advanced practice providers (PAs/NPs) and clinical staff to enhance workflow, clinic efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

Maintain compliance with FOI policies, clinical protocols, and relevant healthcare regulations (CMS, HIPAA, OSHA).

Attend department meetings, educational conferences, and quality improvement initiatives as required.

Provide pre- and post-operative care (if applicable to specialty) and participate in surgical procedures as credentialed.

Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.

Completion of an accredited orthopaedic residency and fellowship (if applicable).

Board Certified or Board Eligible in specialty.

Active Florida medical license or eligibility to obtain one prior to employment.

DEA license in good standing.

Commitment to high standards of clinical excellence and patient satisfaction.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.

Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment.

Desire to work within a physician-led, multidisciplinary team structure.

Comfort using EHR systems and maintaining documentation standards.

Interest in teaching, research, or contributing to clinical innovation is a plus (but not required).
