Position Summary

The Senior Boy’s Program Director (U13-U19) is tasked with developing and implementing a comprehensive training curriculum tailored to the specific needs of boys youth players who participate in the Elite academy League (EAL) and other regional leagues. This includes organizing and overseeing practice sessions, coordinating competitive schedules, and managing team logistics. The role involves recruiting, training, and evaluating coaching staff, as well as maintaining strong communication with parents and fostering a supportive team culture. Additionally, the manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with governing bodies' regulations, promoting player safety, and cultivating an environment that encourages skill development, teamwork, and a passion for soccer among young boy athletes.

This role plays a critical role in fulfilling the Chattanooga FC’s purpose to build community through the world’s game. You will be expected and empowered to facilitate the success of CFC football initiatives and events, advancing the sport and creating memorable experiences for players and fans alike.

Essential Functions

  • Developing Coaches: Develop a curriculum, methodology of coaching, and a framework for coaches to work from. Create and ensure completion of appropriate training for Youth Soccer Coaches.
  • Ensure all coaches understand and comply with Academy, League and Federal Regulations, specifically as it relates to working with children and youth.
  • Continuously look for and implement player development programs during the summer and winter for the academy.
  • Schedule games, practices, and tournaments, communicating clearly and frequently with coaches, players and parents.
  • Manage schedules, logistics, and all details of the games and related activities.
  • Growth of the boys’ side of the academy: Develop and educate players and coaches that share the same passion and embrace the huge potential we have to grow and develop the boys’ soccer players and teams.
  • Assist with other duties as needed to help drive the CFC Purpose, fulfill our Mission, foster our Vision.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 3+ years of youth coaching and directing experience
  • Experience in a Boy’s National Platform (MLS NEXT, ECNL, EAL, etc.)
  • Playing experience at collegiate level or higher (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of long-term player development principles
  • Ability to work effectively with young players and their parents
  • Strong technical and tactical knowledge of soccer
  • Proficient in session planning and player evaluation
  • Experience with video analysis and performance-tracking software
  • Excellent collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills for team information sharing
  • Ability to analyze situations, identify challenges, and develop innovative solutions
  • Capacity to adapt to changing priorities and challenges
  • Commitment to continuous learning and skill development

Licensing and Certifications

  • USSF C License or equivalent (USSF B License or equivalence preferred)
  • First Aid and CPR certification required
  • Possess and maintain a current and valid driver’s license

Additional Requirements

  • Must have or be willing to complete SafeSport training
  • Must have or be willing to complete concussion training
  • Maintain legally required employment eligibility
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking) preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

Medium - Heavy lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 25 pounds frequently. Bending, stretching, and reaching requires. Some sitting and climbing, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended time.

Physical Environment: This position is routinely exposed to external elements which include heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid and extreme weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Supplemental Information

Department: Academy

Work Schedule: Monday – Sunday, Hours will vary due to work assignment. Must be able to work flexible hours which will include extended days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights due to travel.
