Job Summary
The Office Assistant will assist office staff with paperwork preparation, scanning paperwork into patient files, gather insurance information for verification. This person will also be responsible for following up with facilities that have not submitted paperwork.
Essential Job Responsibilities/Functions
- Gathering and scanning paperwork into patient files
- Call any facility that has not sent in required documentation.
- Call any facility that has submitted incorrect documentation and get this information corrected.
- Communicate with billing management on any facilities that are not providing paperwork.
- Following up on returned mail.
- Minimum of two years related experience.
- Certified Biller and Coder strongly preferred.
- Understanding of medical terminology and insurance laws/guidelines.
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Strong telephone skills
- Ability to work well within a group
