Job Skills / Requirements
Protective Security Officers are responsible for meeting the local and federal requirements to perform duties as an armed officer. The primary duties of a PSO may include but no limited to first response to emergencies, enforcing, conducting mobile patrols, inspections, and searches, responsible for access control and detecting, delaying, detaining, and or/ apprehending persons attempting to gain unauthorized access to Government property otherwise violating laws, rules, and regulations in accordance with the Post Orders. PSO must always be vigilant to observe.

Protective Security Officers are responsible for meeting the local and federal requirements to perform duties as an armed officer. The primary duties of a PSO may include but no limited to first response to emergencies, enforcing, conducting mobile patrols, inspections, and searches, responsible for access control and detecting, delaying, detaining, and or/ apprehending persons attempting to gain unauthorized access to Government property otherwise violating laws, rules, and regulations in accordance with the Post Orders. PSO must always be vigilant to observe.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Adhere to all company personnel and safety policies and perform all assigned duties in a safe working manner.
- Perform all tasks in accordance with the duties outlined in Post Orders
- Arrive at work in proper uniform and carry the necessary, issued equipment.
- Participate in Guard Mount, receive assigned post, and copy any extra instructions.
- Use provided communication devices such as two-way radio in a clear and concise manner.
- Provided personal escort services for designated personnel, visitors, etc., when directed to do so by the COR.
- Conduct personnel, vehicular, building & facility checks, packages and parcel inspections.
- Carry firearm license/permit on person while on duty (Unless local or state law requires the contractor to maintain the records)
- Maintain hourly logs, detailed reports, and files of all incidents and occurrences during the tour of duty.
- Provide detailed reports on daily activities and/or incidents that may have occurred.
- Knowledgeable and able to effectively use magnetometer and X-ray machines.
- Ensure credentials are maintained per contract requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have a customer service-driven mindset.
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Project Manager
- PSOs shall be physically able to perform tasks in the performance of assigned duties
- Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping up to 12 hours per day, either indoors or outdoors
- Frequent contact with the general public, law enforcement, and dispatch center, requiring an ability to speak clearly and distinctly and remain calm in stressful situations
- Ability to remain on post for up to four (4) consecutive hours without sitting, eating, or receiving a break
- Ability to remain alert for up to 12 hours, with the ability to mentally and physically react quickly to a variety of unexpected and dangerous situations
- Ability to subdue violent or potentially violent or disturbed individuals or intervene in a crisis
- Occasional running, sprinting, lifting heavy weights, moving heavy objects, climbing stairs
