Overview:
Ross-Simons is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Cranston, RI. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across multiple HR functions, including benefits administration, recruiting, employee relations, compliance, and event planning.

Key Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
- Manage employee enrollments, terminations, and plan updates while conducting monthly invoice audits.
- Ensure compliance with ACA reporting and workers’ compensation requirements.
- Serve as a key liaison for vendor communications and handle compliance processes for leave of absence (LOA), FMLA, and return-to-work documentation.
Talent Acquisition
- Lead recruiting efforts for non-managerial roles, from job postings and resume reviews to interviews and hiring decisions.
- Coordinate in-person interview scheduling and manage seasonal hiring initiatives, including job fairs, onboarding, and offboarding.
Employee Relations and Support
- Provide timely responses to employee inquiries regarding payroll, PTO, policies, and workplace processes.
- Offer guidance on attendance, disciplinary matters, and policy clarifications.
- Draft and distribute employee communications, including announcements for new hires, promotions, and organizational updates.
Employee Engagement and Recognition
- Plan and execute engaging employee events, such as recognition programs, team-building activities, and milestone celebrations.
- Manage event logistics, including vendor coordination, awards, and social media coverage.
HR Operations and Compliance
- Maintain accurate employee records by managing HRIS updates, scanning and filing documentation, and ensuring payroll accuracy with weekly ADP maintenance.
- Coordinate employment verifications with DLT, DOL, and unemployment agencies.
Projects and Special Initiatives
- Lead key HR projects, such as digitizing performance scorecards and facilitating compliance training.
- Organize large-scale events like summer BBQs, holiday celebrations, and milestone anniversaries.
- Oversee benefits open enrollment, including planning fairs and system setup.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in HR or a related field preferred.
- Skills: Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills. Familiarity with ADP or similar HRIS systems is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
