We are seeking a seasoned Facilities Manager to oversee a high-profile account within a 5 million square foot manufacturing facility. This leader will be responsible for managing 75+ full-time employees, including janitorial staff, material handlers, and maintenance technicians, across a 3 shift industrial operation. The ideal candidate will drive excellence in service delivery, operational performance, and workforce leadership while ensuring compliance with client standards and safety protocols

We are seeking a seasoned Facilities Manager to oversee a high-profile account within a 5 million square foot manufacturing facility. This leader will be responsible for managing 75+ full-time employees, including janitorial staff, material handlers, and maintenance technicians, across a 3 shift industrial operation. The ideal candidate will drive excellence in service delivery, operational performance, and workforce leadership while ensuring compliance with client standards and safety protocols
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management
- Lead and coordinate janitorial, material handling, and maintenance operations across the entire 5 million sq. ft. facility
- Ensure all work—routine cleaning, floor care, waste handling, materials movement, and preventative maintenance—is completed per contract standards and client expectations
- Establish and maintain efficient workflows, shift coverage, and task delegation for day, swing, and overnight crews
- Oversee safety and compliance with manufacturing site policies, OSHA standards, and environmental protocols
- Act as the daily on-site point of contact for plant leadership and client stakeholders
- Lead weekly operations meetings and joint walkthroughs to ensure alignment on service levels and priorities
- Deliver timely resolution of issues, incidents, or service gaps while maintaining a proactive, solutions-oriented relationship with the client
- Provide regular reporting on KPIs, SLAs, quality audits, staffing, and safety
- Manage a team of 75+ including janitorial supervisors, leads, cleaners, material handlers, and maintenance techs
- Ensure staffing levels meet fluctuating production demands and coverage across all shifts
- Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and service excellence
- Partner with HR on hiring, onboarding, disciplinary processes, and employee retention initiatives
- Support development and training for frontline team members, especially in equipment usage, safety, and SOPs
- Coordinate maintenance technicians to address basic equipment upkeep, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance programs
- Ensure timely support for facility infrastructure, janitorial equipment, and general upkeep needs
- Oversee material handling team responsible for internal waste collection, material staging, and supply movement
- Implement efficient routing and handling processes that align with the facility’s production and sanitation schedules
- Manage and control labor hours, supply usage, and equipment inventory
- Approve timekeeping, schedules, and weekly labor reports
- Track against budgeted labor and materials; recommend cost-saving strategies
- Ensure all services are delivered within scope and contractual agreement
You will have:
- 5+ years of experience managing janitorial/facility services in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Experience supervising large teams (75+ FTEs) including multi-functional roles (janitorial, maintenance, materials handling)
- Strong understanding of safety and compliance in industrial facilities (OSHA, GMP, EPA)
- Proven track record of managing high-pressure environments and shifting client needs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and facility management software
- Requires walking, inspecting, and working across large square footage regularly
- Must be available for after-hours or weekend issues as needed
- May require light physical work or response support during operational surges
