This position plays a critical role in ensuring that initial production components and assemblies meet all customer, engineering, and regulatory requirements before full-scale production begins. Job Summary
Regal Technology Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated First Article Inspector to join our Quality team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that initial production components and assemblies meet all customer, engineering, and regulatory requirements before full-scale production begins. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision inspection techniques and an in-depth understanding of quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102 standards and internal quality requirements.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to verify part compliance.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, etc.) to inspect parts and components.
- Document inspection results accurately using FAI forms and reports.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to resolve non-conformances and clarify inspection criteria.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with customer and regulatory standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process or quality enhancements.
- Maintain organized records and inspection reports for audits and traceability.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in quality inspection or a similar role in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Must know AS9102 and industry inspection standards.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with quality software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with CMM programming and operation.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and quality management systems.
- Ability to sit for long periods.
