The U.S. Consumer Services Team is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. American Express Global Dining consists of Resy and Tock. Our mission is to power the world’s best restaurants, using technology to imagine the future of hospitality. We serve over 18,000 restaurants globally. Our customers discover the amazing world of restaurants thanks to our content-rich website and innovative mobile app. Our diners are insiders, and we love having them at the table.
The Industry Development Team sits in the Global Dining Organization and is tasked with owning industry partnerships & initiatives that grow and protect Resy & Tock’s restaurant positioning through new innovations. Our partnerships are crucial to ensuring that Resy & Tock stay plugged into the overall restaurant tech ecosystem and provide the best experience possible for Resy & Tock restaurant partners.
About the Role
As the Senior Manager of Business Development & Product Partnerships, you’ll be responsible for understanding Resy & Tock’s place in the industry and being a first port of call for industry partners who want to work with Resy & Tock through a product integration which may include a sales and marketing effort. You’ll develop a point of view on how we should integrate third party players and do outbound outreach to players who fit our strategy. You’ll work cross-functionally to lead these partnerships across the company to ensure the partners we choose work hard to drive our KPIs. These partnerships can span from Point of Sale, CRM, and other players who want to integrate with our B2B technologies to discovery channels that want to leverage the power of our restaurant network by working more closely with Resy & Tock. For clarity, not in scope for this role are individual restaurant relationships, Global Restaurant Network partners, or card benefit partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Lead industry product partnership development across sales, marketing, and product organizations
- Outline strategic landscape and do partnership outreach, bringing in partners to support the growth of Global Dining users, Global Dining restaurants, and / or Global Dining product functionality
- Work with partners for third party reviews and ensure we are protecting company and customer data
- Lead cross-functionally across Resy & Tock to pull together company perspective and negotiate integrations, joint go-to-market, and / or marketing plans, working with team members
- Deepen engagement with industry partners, with the goal of sourcing incremental value for both Resy & Tock prospects and customers
Qualifications
- Experience working with external partners. You have thought through partnership concepts and how they fit into strategic ecosystems.
- Experience developing and delivering high level technical approaches to a product audiences
- Experience working cross-functionally to deliver a project. You are detail oriented and have experience as a project manager to drive work forward across more teams than your own.
- Outstanding written communication skills (e.g. emails, slide writing), and oral communications skills (e.g., personal presence, executive presence, facilitate decision making) with composure required to effectively communicate to senior leaders
- Demonstrated ability to drive progress in complex & white space environments
- You have an understanding for Amex’ compliance environment and an understanding of our responsibility to protect company and user data.
- 5+ years of work experience, preferably in restaurant tech or third-party partnerships
- Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience
- Hospitality or SaaS Industry Expertise Required
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills required, other Microsoft Office and skills preferred
- Salesforce skills recommended
